SDAL Successfully Completes Hybrid VTOL UAV Rudrastra Trial at Pokharan Firing Range

Solar Defence and Aerospace Limited (SDAL) has marked a significant achievement. They successfully trialed their Hybrid Vertical Takeoff and Landing (VTOL) UAV, Rudrastra. The trial took place on June 11, 2025, at the Pokharan Firing Range. This trial, carried out in collaboration with the Indian Army, showcased the UAV’s advanced capabilities and met critical performance criteria.

Meeting the Army’s Performance Expectations

The trial was conducted under specific parameters set by the Indian Army. It focused on key aspects such as vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL). The overall operational range, including time spent loitering over the target area, exceeded 170 kilometers.

With an estimated endurance of approximately 1.5 hours, the UAV demonstrated its reliability and potential for various defense applications.
