Anurag Dwivedi, the fantasy-cricket YouTuber, faces financial scrutiny after a lavish Dubai wedding and luxury cars
A high-profile Dubai wedding has pushed popular fantasy-cricket YouTuber Anurag Dwivedi into the spotlight of financial investigators. The Unnao-born influencer is known for his luxury cars and opulent lifestyle. Now, he is facing scrutiny. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) searched his properties and seized multiple high-end vehicles over suspected financial irregularities.
Anurag Dwivedi was born in 1999 in Khajur village under Nawabganj police station in Uttar Pradesh’s Unnao district. He is the son of former village head Lakshminath Dwivedi. He completed his graduation before moving beyond his rural roots into the world of online cricket analysis. Until a few years ago, he was known locally as the boy who cycled on village roads. Today, he owns plush homes in his village and Lucknow. He also possesses premium cars such as BMW, Mercedes, Defender, Ferrari, and Lamborghini.
Dwivedi’s turnaround began around 2017–18. He shifted to Delhi with a friend after reportedly losing large sums to cricket betting. There he entered the fantasy-sports ecosystem, particularly Dream11, and started posting cricket-analysis videos. He provided sharp match breakdowns and team tips. This helped him amass nearly seven million subscribers on YouTube. He also gained over two million followers on Instagram. He brands himself as a fantasy-cricket expert earning crores through promotions, events and digital content.

On 22 November 2024, Dwivedi married his Lucknow-based girlfriend on a luxury cruise in Dubai. He reportedly flew in about 100 relatives and bore the full cost of travel, stay, and celebrations. The scale of the wedding was immense. His expanding fleet of supercars added to this impression. Additionally, his heavily staffed lifestyle intensified curiosity over the source of his wealth. Earlier that year, he had hosted a grand fan event titled “Tu Kar Lega” at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan in Lucknow. The event drew more than 500 fantasy-cricket followers. It further boosted his brand image.
The glamour soon drew attention from enforcement agencies. On 17 December, a 16‑member ED team conducted a roughly 12‑hour search. They searched at his Unnao residence and at the house of his uncle, Nripendra Nath Dwivedi, in Nawabganj town. Investigators seized bank records, property papers, and digital devices. They also took custody of four luxury cars. These included a Lamborghini valued at about ₹6.5 crore. Dwivedi was reportedly in Dubai during the action.
The ED is examining whether Dwivedi’s fantasy-cricket earnings are linked to illegal betting channels. Another concern is possible money laundering. There are indications that his declared income may not match his visible assets. Officials are investigating the origin of crores flowing through his accounts. They are also examining his rapid accumulation of property and vehicles.
This is not the first time his name has surfaced in controversy. In December 2024, he allegedly received a ₹1‑crore extortion threat from gangster Rohit Godara of the Lawrence Bishnoi network. This incident prompted a brief social-media post about danger to his life. The post was later deleted. Around the same period, a Thar vehicle registered in his name was mentioned in a case. Passengers used it to stop a Chandigarh University bus and misbehave with occupants. This led to an FIR against six people.
Investigators are piecing together the money trail behind his rise from village cyclist to supercar owner. Anurag Dwivedi’s story has become a cautionary tale. It highlights the thin line separating social-media stardom, high-risk money flows, and law-enforcement scrutiny.
