Bomb Threats Target Kerala CM Office, Cliff House Residence; Investigation Underway
Thiruvananthapuram, April 28, 2025 — Bomb threats targeted the Kerala Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) on Sunday morning. The Chief Minister’s official residence, ‘Cliff House,’ was also targeted. This incident triggered a high-security alert across the state capital.
According to official sources, the threats were delivered via email, prompting immediate action by the police and bomb disposal squads. Thorough search operations are currently underway at both the Secretariat and the Chief Minister’s residence. So far, no suspicious materials have been discovered.
The incident follows a series of similar threats across Thiruvananthapuram in recent days. On Saturday, several prominent hotels received bomb threats. These included the Hilton Garden Inn and Gokulam Grand. The threats led to swift evacuations and security sweeps. Additionally, Thiruvananthapuram International Airport was also targeted via an email threat, although subsequent investigations declared it a hoax.
Heightened Security Ahead of PM Modi’s Visit
The wave of threats comes ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s scheduled visit to Kerala on May 2. Security agencies are on high alert, with law enforcement intensifying patrols and search operations across sensitive locations. Officials are treating the threats with utmost seriousness, given their potential to disrupt public life and cause panic.
The Kerala Police have urged citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities immediately. Investigations are ongoing to trace the origin of the threats. Authorities are working to ensure the continued safety of both the public and high-profile government offices.
