Polling for the Delhi Assembly elections 2025 began on Wednesday morning. Several top leaders and prominent personalities cast their votes early in the day. Among the first to exercise their franchise were President Droupadi Murmu, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, and Delhi Chief Minister Atishi.
Delhi Assembly elections 2025, which has 1.56 crore eligible voters, are witnessing a triangular contest. The contest is between the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and Congress.
Top Leaders Cast Their Votes
President Droupadi Murmu was seen showing her inked finger at her designated polling booth. She urged citizens to participate in the democratic process. External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Singh Puri also reached their respective polling stations early in the day.
Rahul Gandhi cast his vote at a polling booth in the New Delhi constituency. He was accompanied by Delhi Congress leaders. The party has fielded Sandeep Dikshit as its candidate there.
Delhi Chief Minister Atishi is leading AAP’s campaign for a third consecutive term in power. She also cast her vote early. She expressed confidence in her party’s performance. “The people of Delhi will vote for development, education, and a clean government,” she said after voting.

• Congress’ Kalkaji candidate Alka Lamba
Polling is underway across the city. Authorities have implemented tight security arrangements. These measures ensure a smooth and peaceful voting process. Officials have set up over 13,000 polling booths across Delhi. They have urged voters to step out and cast their votes.
The results of the Delhi Assembly elections 2025 will be declared on February 8, 2025.
