Man consumes Poison with 6 members of his family, here is why?
Seven members of a family were found dead in a car in Panchkula on Sunday. This is a heartbreaking incident that has sent shockwaves through Haryana. The family, originally from Hisar, was reportedly overwhelmed by financial burdens and constant threats from creditors. One member was rescued alive but later succumbed after revealing they had all consumed poison due to severe debt.
Praveen Mittal, one of the deceased, had shifted from Barwala in Hisar to Panchkula over a decade ago. He once owned a scrap factory in Himachal Pradesh. His cousin Sandeep Agarwal said that the factory was eventually confiscated by a bank due to outstanding loan payments. The family’s financial troubles escalated as loans piled up to nearly Rs 20 crore, leaving them in a desperate situation.
Relatives have disclosed that the Mittal family was living in fear, receiving frequent threats from lenders. According to Sandeep, the pressure became so intense that the family abruptly left Hisar. They relocated to Dehradun for several years. They cut off contact with friends and relatives. “He did not stay in touch with anyone for five years,” Sandeep said. He added that the threats played a major role in their sudden departure.
The family was living near Saketri village in Panchkula during the tragedy. Praveen was working as a taxi driver to support his family. Sandeep mentioned that Praveen had already lost two apartments. He had also lost his business and vehicles due to loan recovery actions taken by the bank. “He had nothing left,” he added.
Police officials stated that a suicide note was recovered from the scene. In it, Praveen requested that his cousin Sandeep perform the last rites. Sandeep confirmed that he had spoken to Praveen just five days earlier. The tone of the conversation now seemed like a final goodbye.
