IPL 2025 Kicks off 22nd March 2025

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has officially released the schedule for the Tata IPL 2025 season.

The tournament is set to kick off on March 22, 2025. The highly anticipated tournament will feature a total of 70 league matches, with games scheduled across various venues in India.

The season opener will have Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) facing Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). The match will take place at Eden Gardens, Kolkata, on March 22 at 7:30 PM. Defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will play their first match against Mumbai Indians (MI) on March 24 in Chennai. This is a classic match that fans eagerly await every season.

The tournament will feature weekday matches starting at 7:30 PM IST. On weekends, double-headers will have games at 3:30 PM and 7:30 PM. Teams will play across multiple venues, including Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, New Chandigarh, Jaipur, Lucknow, and Guwahati.

Key clashes include:
• Mumbai Indians vs Chennai Super Kings on April 20 in Mumbai
• Royal Challengers Bengaluru vs Gujarat Titans on April 21 in Kolkata
• Delhi Capitals vs Rajasthan Royals on May 8 in Delhi
• Gujarat Titans vs Lucknow Super Giants on May 18 in Ahmedabad

The tournament will follow the traditional home-and-away format. This approach ensures teams get the advantage of playing in front of their home crowd.
