Hurun Rich List: Indian billionaires wealth increased by an average of 10 percent in the last one year

Hurun Rich List: The number of billionaires in India has increased to 284. These billionaires have a total wealth of Rs 98 lakh crore. Hurun has given this information in one of its latest reports. According to the Hurun Global Rich List for 2025, the total wealth of the country’s richest people has grown. Their wealth increased by 10 percent over the last year.
According to the Hurun Global Rich List for 2025, 90 out of 284 billionaires live in the country’s financial capital. This capital is Mumbai. India remains in a strong position on the global stage. It ranks third in terms of the number of billionaires. Only the US and China rank higher. The US tops the list with 870 billionaires. The Hurun report states that the wealth of 175 Indian billionaires has increased. In contrast, the wealth of 109 has either declined or remained unchanged. The average wealth of an Indian billionaire is now Rs 34,514 crore. Apart from this, India has seven billionaires under the age of 40, most of whom are from Bengaluru and Mumbai.
On the global front, Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk recorded the biggest wealth increase last year. His gain amounted to $189 billion. The billionaire retained his title as the world’s richest person for the fourth time in five years. He became the first person to cross the $400 billion mark. Amazon founder Jeff Bezos is in second place with a net worth of $266 billion. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg reached the top three for the first time. This was due to strong investor confidence in Meta’s AI and technology upgrades.
This year’s Hurun list also included names from entertainment, sports and social media. These included singers Jay-Z, Rihanna, Taylor Swift and Paul McCartney. Some sports personalities made it to the billionaire club. They included Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods, Floyd Mayweather, LeBron James, Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. Kim Kardashian was the only influential personality to be included in the world rankings.
