Pakistan PM Remarks: Amid the plight of Pakistan, the country is facing an economic crisis. Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif has made impossible claims. He suggested overtaking India to divert the attention of the public.

Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif made a big statement about India in a public meeting on Saturday (22 February, 2025). This led to tremendous reactions on social media. Shahbaz Sharif said that if Pakistan does not get ahead of India, then my name is not Shehbaz Sharif.

His statement has sparked discussions in political circles as well as on social media. Shahbaz Sharif made this statement in Dera Ghazi Khan. He addressed a large gathering and inaugurated several development projects there.

Shehbaz Sharif’s statement
Shehbaz Sharif vowed to pull Pakistan out of the economic crisis and make it a self-reliant country. He said in his speech, “If we do not leave India behind, my name will not be Shehbaz Sharif. We will make Pakistan a great nation and get ahead of India.” Sharif further said that his government will focus on making Pakistan a debt-free self-reliant economy. He claimed that his government has reduced inflation from 40% to just 2%. However, his statement was widely discussed and criticized not only in India but also in Pakistan.

Shehbaz Sharif’s Double standard
Earlier this month, Shehbaz Sharif had expressed his desire for peace talks with India. He wanted to open dialogue. He had said that Pakistan wants to resolve all issues including the Kashmir dispute through peaceful talks. He gave this statement on the occasion of “Kashmir Solidarity Day” in Muzaffarabad (Pakistan occupied Kashmir). But now the question arises. If Pakistan wants friendship with India, why is it talking about getting ahead of India? Why is it discussing leaving India behind?
