194 Agniveers Join Ladakh Scouts in Grand Passing Out Parade at Leh

Leh, June 5, 2025 — A spectacular Passing Out Parade occurred at the Ladakh Scouts Regimental Centre in Leh. During the event, 194 Agniveer recruits joined the Ladakh Scouts Regiment. These recruits were freshly trained and formally inducted into the esteemed Indian Army unit.

A Proud Moment for Ladakh and the Nation

The grand ceremony was reviewed by Major General Gurpal Singh, YSM, SM, General Officer Commanding of the Uniform Force. He graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Senior Army officials, civil dignitaries, and proud family members of the recruits also joined him.

With precision and pride, the new Agniveers marched with resolve. They represent every corner of the Ladakh region. This march symbolises their readiness to serve the country under the banner of the Indian Army.

Saluting the Spirit of Service

Major General Gurpal Singh congratulated the Agniveers on their successful completion of rigorous training. He urged them to embrace their responsibilities with honour and dedication. He acknowledged their families, particularly their parents, for instilling the values of discipline and patriotism.

The Chief Guest also commended the Ladakh Scouts Regiment for its longstanding legacy of courage, loyalty, and excellence. The Chief Guest urged the new soldiers to uphold these values in the defence of the nation.

Recognising Excellence in Training

As part of the ceremony, awards were presented to recruits who demonstrated exceptional performance during training. In a special gesture, the Gaurav Padak honored parents with military backgrounds. These parents have served or are currently serving in the armed forces. Their children have now joined the regiment.

For many families who traveled long distances from remote parts of Ladakh, the ceremony was both proud and emotional. It marked a personal milestone and a patriotic one.

Strengthening India’s Mountain Warriors

The Ladakh Scouts are known as the “Snow Warriors” of the Indian Army. They continue to be a pillar of strength in high-altitude defence. The addition of these 194 young Agniveers brings renewed energy to the regiment. Their commitment further bolsters the Army’s presence in one of the country’s most strategically critical regions.
