Indian Army Denies False Reports of Remotely Piloted Aircraft Hacking by PLA
The Indian Army has categorically rejected recent social media allegations. These allegations suggest that one of its Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA) strayed into Chinese territory in the Eastern Theatre. They also claim it was hacked by the People’s Liberation Army (PLA). The Army clarified that these claims are completely false, baseless, and factually incorrect.
Key Highlights:
The viral reports alleged that the Indian RPA was taken over through PLA’s electronic warfare techniques. In response, Indian Army officials have confirmed that no such incident took place. They assured that all Indian defence systems, including RPAs, are secured with robust protocols designed to prevent any external interference.
In an official statement, the Army called on media outlets and social media users to verify information before dissemination. The Army warned that sharing such fabricated narratives misguides the public. It also undermines the integrity of official defence communications.
Reassuring the public, the Army emphasized its unwavering commitment to the security and operational integrity of all its defence assets. It stressed that false reports only spread panic and confusion. This happens at a time when clarity and verified information are critical.
This incident highlights the growing challenge of misinformation and fake news, especially concerning sensitive national security topics. The Indian Army’s prompt and transparent clarification aims to counter these falsehoods and maintain public trust in India’s defence capabilities.
