They stated that no exchange of heavy-callibre weapons took place. “Minor incidents are not unprecedented along the LoC,” the official statement read. It added that concerns have been raised with the Pakistan Army at the appropriate level.

Escalation After IED Blast

The clarification comes amid heightened tensions along the LoC. This follows the IED attack in the Akhnoor sector. The attack claimed the lives of two Indian Army personnel, including a captain. Security forces had been on high alert. The Krishna Ghati sector in Poonch saw Pakistani firing on Indian frontline posts on Wednesday.
