Indian Navy Conducts Naval Drill with UK Carrier Strike Group in North Arabian Sea
Strengthening Maritime Cooperation through High-End Naval Drill
The Indian Navy demonstrated growing naval cooperation. They participated in a high-level Passage Exercise (PASSEX) with the United Kingdom’s Carrier Strike Group (CSG). This exercise occurred in the North Arabian Sea on June 9 and 10, 2025. This collaborative effort featured a wide array of maritime operations, reinforcing the strategic partnership between the two nations.
The Indian contingent in the exercise included the stealth frigate INS Tabar. It also included a submarine and the long-range P-8I maritime patrol aircraft. These assets performed a series of coordinated maneuvers. They worked alongside the Royal Navy’s HMS Prince of Wales, a Queen Elizabeth-class aircraft carrier. They also worked with HMS Richmond, a Type 23 frigate.
