Major global powers back right of India to self-defense; Islamabad finds itself increasingly cornered diplomatically.
Indian Armed Forces launched Operation Sindoor in a swift and coordinated military action. They successfully dismantled major terror infrastructure across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK). The operation lasted just 25 minutes in the early hours of May 7. It targeted nine high-value terrorist hideouts. This action sent a strong message against cross-border terrorism.
According to official sources, Indian forces struck training and logistics hubs. These belonged to Pakistan-based terror outfits, including Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), and Hizbul Mujahideen. These camps are located in areas such as Muzaffarabad, Kotli, and Gulpur in PoJK. They had been used to plan and execute recent attacks inside India. These include the horrific Pahalgam massacre which claimed the lives of 26 people.
The key facilities destroyed included recruitment centers, training grounds, and launch pads. Some of these had a direct link to previous terror strikes in Sonamarg, Gulmarg, Rajouri, and Poonch.
Colonel Sofia Qureshi and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh briefed the media. They highlighted that the operation was meticulously planned to avoid civilian casualties. “Each target was selected based on confirmed intelligence,” Colonel Qureshi said. “Maximum care was taken to avoid harming innocent lives.”
The strike was launched at 1:05 AM. It concluded by 1:30 AM. This timing showcases the coordination between the Army, Air Force, and Navy. Indian Rafale fighter jets played a crucial role in carrying out precision strikes deep inside hostile territory.
The operation has pushed Pakistan onto the diplomatic back foot. While Islamabad has issued vague and conflicting statements, international reaction remains muted—indicative of tacit support for India’s right to self-defence.
Countries like Qatar, France, and the UAE reportedly understand India’s need to respond to terror provocations. The United Nations, while calling for de-escalation, stopped short of criticizing India, instead urging accountability for terror attacks.
Operation Sindoor marks a significant shift in India’s counter-terror doctrine—one that combines surgical precision with strategic restraint. The Indian government has reiterated its position: No sanctuary for terror. There will be no impunity for those who orchestrate violence from across the border.
India has neutralized major terror launchpads. It has not only avenged the Pahalgam killings but also reaffirmed its resolve to act decisively against cross-border threats.
