Suicide Attack Targets Pakistan Military Base Days After Train Hijacking

A suicide attack targeted the Jandola military camp in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. The attack was reportedly carried out by the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). This militant group is active along the Afghan-Pakistani border. According to multiple media reports, including Geo News, Pakistan’s military responded. They eliminated eight to nine militants near the Frontier Corps (FC) camp in South Waziristan.

Explosions and Gunfire Reported

Local police confirmed that a powerful explosion rocked Jandola, followed by intense gunfire. Security officials stated that militants attempted to breach the Jandola check post but were intercepted by Pakistani forces. Despite the resistance, a suicide bomber detonated a vehicle near the FC camp, as reported by security sources.

Attack Follows Baloch Liberation Army Train Hijacking

This incident comes just days after the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) hijacked the Jaffar Express on March 11. The train, traveling from Quetta to Peshawar through the Bolan Valley, was carrying over 450 passengers, including 200 security personnel. The standoff between BLA militants and Pakistani forces ended with security forces eliminating all 50 attackers. However, 21 passengers lost their lives before the remaining hostages were successfully rescued, according to military statements.
