Complaint Filed Against Farah Khan Over Holi Remark

A complaint has been registered against filmmaker and choreographer Farah Khan. She allegedly referred to Holi as “a festival for the chhapris,” a term perceived as derogatory. According to a report, the FIR was lodged at Khar Police Station on Friday.

Reason for the Complaint

The controversy arose from a remark made by Farah during an episode of Celebrity MasterChef on February 20. The complaint was filed by Vikash Fhatak, widely recognized as Hindustani Bhau.

Allegations of Insulting Religious Sentiments

Farah’s statement has been criticized for allegedly offending the religious sentiments of Hindus. According to the report, Fhatak’s lawyer is Ali Kaashif Khan Deshmukh. He claimed that using the term “chhapris” in reference to a religious festival was inappropriate. This will trigger communal disharmony.

Legal Action Demanded

The complaint asserts that Farah’s remark was offensive and disrespectful toward Holi. It seeks legal action under multiple provisions of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including sections 196, 299, 302, and 353.
