Deepika Padukone First Indian to Receive Hollywood Walk of Fame Star

Deepika Padukone has achieved another milestone. She is the first Indian to be honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. She is set to receive a star on the popular sidewalk in Los Angeles next year. Deepika was announced as a recipient along with other notable personalities from the worlds of recordings, motion pictures, and television. Live theater/live performance and sports entertainment figures were included too, at a live press conference from Ovation Hollywood.

Deepika among recipients of Hollywood Walk of Fame Star 2026

On Wednesday, Deepika Padukone name was officially announced. She was named alongside 35 other renowned global personalities as recipients of the Hollywood Walk of Fame star. Deepika was named as an honoree for the Hollywood Walk of Fame Class of 2026. This was in the Motion Pictures category. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce revealed the list live, placing Deepika alongside international icons such as Demi Moore, Rachel McAdams, Emily Blunt, Timothée Chalamet, Rami Malek, and Stanley Tucci. The list also includes former NBA star turned sports analyst Shaquille O’Neal; and Good Morning America co-anchors Robin Roberts and George Stephanopoulos; and celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay.

The honorees were chosen by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce’s Walk of Fame selection panel from hundreds of nominees in a meeting on 20th June. This list was officially approved by the Chamber’s board of directors on June 25. Peter Roth, former CEO of Warner Bros, Television and chairman of the Walk of Fame selection committee, while revealing the list of honourees, said, “These talented individuals have made significant contributions to the world of entertainment, and we are thrilled to honour them with this well-deserved recognition.”

Fellow Walk of Famers Eugenio Derbez and Richard Blade took turns announcing the list on Wednesday.

Deepika’s Hollywood History

Deepika made her Hollywood debut with XXX: Return of Xander Cage alongside Vin Diesel. The film was released in 2017. She has since walked red carpets at Cannes and the Met Gala, and is also the first Indian to become the global face of Louis Vuitton and Cartier. She has featured in TIME’s 100 most influential people list and Variety’s International Women’s Impact Report. In 2023, Deepika was one of the presenters at the Academy Awards. She introduced Naatu Naatu from SS Rajamouli’s RRR to the global audience on stage. The song won the Best Original Score at the Academy Awards that year.

She was most recently seen in Kalki 2898 AD, Nag Ashwin’s pan-India blockbuster, which also starred Prabhas and Amitabh Bachchan. She is also a part of the planned sequel. Deepika will also be working with Allu Arjun on Atlee’s next film, which is tentatively-titled AA22xA6.

The actress tied the knot with Ranveer Singh in 2018. Last year, on September 8, they were blessed with a daughter, Dua Padukone Singh.
