Ramayana First Look Teaser: The internet is abuzz over the recently released first look of ‘Ramayana: The Introduction.’ It features Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, and Yash. The cinematic adaptation of the epic has been made in collaboration with stalwarts from both Bollywood and Hollywood. Fans are hailing the first look, calling it Indian cinema’s peak.
The first look teaser of Ramayana is the talk of the town on X (formerly Twitter). On July 3rd, 2025, the makers unveiled the epic universe with a global launch of Ramayana: The Introduction. This event set the stage for the timeless battle. The battle features two of mythology’s most iconic forces: Rama Vs Ravana. Fans are now, even more excited to see the film release on the big screen. “The way Indian cinema peaked here! This is a phenomenon! GOOSEBUMPS,” wrote a user.
There was a time in India. Making a film with a budget of Rs 50 crore was seen as a huge deal. Those days are long gone. Today, the idea of a big-budget film has reached a whole new level.
Filmmaker Nitesh Tiwari’s upcoming ‘Ramayana’ is now setting the biggest benchmark ever. This mythological drama was made on a whopping budget of about Rs 835 crore (around $100 million). It has become the most expensive Indian film in history.
Nitesh Tiwari’s ‘Ramayana’ is about to rewrite Indian film history by becoming the costliest project ever. This grand film will be released in two parts. The first part has already finished filming. It is now moving into post-production.
The numbers are quite clear. The budget for ‘Ramayana’ is roughly Rs 835 crore. This leaves behind other massive films like ‘Kalki 2898 AD’, which was made for Rs 600 crore. ‘RRR’ and ‘Adipurush’ both had budgets of Rs 550 crore. Even the VFX-heavy ‘Brahmastra Part One’ looks small next to this epic. Its cost was Rs 375 crore and it was Bollywood’s most expensive film so far.
Nitesh Tiwari, the director, is bringing us another cinematic experience. He previously gave us ‘Dangal’. This version of ‘Ramayana’ will bring sage Valmiki’s ancient Sanskrit tale to life. It will be on a scale never seen before.
The film stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, and Kannada superstar Yash as Ravana. The ensemble cast includes big names. It features Vivek Oberoi, Rakul Preet Singh, Lara Dutta, and Kajal Aggarwal. Other notable actors are Ravi Dubey, Kunal Kapoor, Arun Govil, Sheeba Chadha, and Indira Krishnan. The film’s grand release is planned for Diwali 2026, promising a festive treat like no other.

The film’s breathtaking visual effects are being handled by a British-Indian VFX company that has won eight Oscars for Best Visual Effects.
Filming for Part 1 is complete. The film has entered what is expected to be a long and demanding post-production phase. With so much advanced VFX work, it is going to take time to get every detail right. The schedule for filming Part 2 has not been shared yet. It is likely that the team will wait to see how audiences respond to the first part. They will make a decision before moving ahead in full swing.
