NSA challenges Foreign Media for Proof of Damage to India During Operation Sindoor
On Friday, National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval expressed his pride in India’s indigenous defence system. This pride was due to its success during Operation Sindoor. India registered total victory. It succeeded in the cyber war through vigilance and fact checks. It also triumphed on the battlefield with its BrahMos missile or the Integrated Air Command and Control System.
Doval was speaking as the chief guest at the 62nd convocation at IIT Madras. He also praised IIT for its contributions to indigenous technology. These were his first public remarks regarding Operation Sindoor. He said that India targeted nine terror targets in Pakistan with precision under Operation Sindoor. He added that the entire operation took only 23 minutes.
“We have to develop our indigenous technology. Mention was made here of Sindoor. We are really proud of it, not necessarily for what people perceive. That how much of our indigenous content was there. We are proud of it. Some of the best systems that worked were the BrahMos missile. Our Integrated Air Command and Control System also proved effective,” Doval said.
“We decided to have nine terrorist targets in the crisscross of Pakistan; it was not only border areas. We missed none and hit nowhere except that. It was precise to the point where we knew who is where. The entire operation took 23 minutes. It started at 5 minutes past 1 and was over at 28 minutes past 1. Thereafter, a lot of things were said… in the foreign press…said Pakistan did that…you tell me, one photograph, one imagery…which shows any Indian damage being done,” Doval said.
He called out the international media, especially the New York Times, for its skewed coverage of Operation Sindoor. He dared them to “show even one image” of damage to India. Doval asked for proof of “even a glass pane having been broken”.
“They wrote these things and put out things…The images only showed 13 air bases in Pakistan before and after 10th May. This included locations such as Sargodha, Rahim Yar Khan, and Chaklala…I am only telling you what the foreign media put out on the basis of images…We are capable of doing that (damage to Pakistani air bases…” the NSA added.
India launched Operation Sindoor on May 7 when the military hit nine terror camps inside Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), killing more than 100 terrorists. This was in response to the April 22 Pahalgam attack. This led to four days of hostilities before both sides reached a ceasefire.
