Espionage Network Busted in Punjab: Key Suspect Linked to Pakistan-Based Operatives
The State Special Operations Cell (SSOC) in Mohali, Punjab has dismantled a significant espionage operation tied to cross-border terror networks. The breakthrough came following actionable intelligence, leading authorities to Jasbir Singh, a resident of Mahlan village in Rupnagar district.
Jasbir Singh runs a YouTube channel titled “Jaan Mahal”. He is now under investigation for his alleged involvement in an espionage ring. This ring is backed by terrorist groups. Officials have confirmed his close association with a Pakistan-based individual of Indian origin. Shakir, also known as Jutt Randhawa, is believed to be a central figure in the network.
Singh was also in regular contact with Jyoti Malhotra, a Haryana-based YouTuber previously arrested for espionage. Moreover, his connections include Ehsan-ur-Rahim alias Danish. He is a Pakistani national and former official at the Pakistan High Commission. He was expelled for espionage-related activities.

Investigations reveal that Jasbir Singh had traveled to Pakistan on three separate occasions—in 2020, 2021, and 2024. Notably, he participated in the Pakistan National Day event held in Delhi. He was invited by Danish. He reportedly interacted with Pakistani military officers and vloggers. Forensic examination of his electronic devices has uncovered multiple Pakistani contact numbers, which are currently being analyzed in detail.
Following the arrest of Jyoti Malhotra, Jasbir allegedly made deliberate attempts to delete communication records. These records were linked to foreign operatives. He aimed to avoid detection by Indian security agencies. Despite these efforts, a First Information Report (FIR) has been filed at SSOC Mohali. This filing formally initiates legal proceedings against him.
Authorities are actively pursuing leads to uncover the full extent of the espionage network. They are identifying other individuals who may be involved in facilitating or supporting these anti-national activities.
The Punjab Police reaffirmed their determination to eliminate threats to India’s national security. This action was taken under the direction of Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav. A statement from the force emphasized its zero-tolerance policy against espionage. It also promised continued efforts to dismantle hostile networks operating within the country.
