She has been arrested with five others. They are accused of spying for Pakistan’s intelligence agency, the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).

Investigations reveal that Malhotra visited Pakistan in 2023 on a visa issued by the Pakistani High Commission. During her stay, she reportedly developed a close relationship with Ehsan-ur-Rahim alias Danish, an employee at the High Commission. Danish reportedly introduced her to other Pakistani intelligence agents. These individuals include Ali Ahsan and Shakir, also known as Rana Shahbaz. Notably, Malhotra had saved Shahbaz’s contact in her phone under the alias “Jatt Randhawa.”
Use of Encrypted Communication
Sources in the investigation confirmed that Malhotra communicated with these individuals. She used encrypted messaging platforms such as WhatsApp, Telegram, and Snapchat. Officials claim she shared sensitive data. She also used her online presence to portray Pakistan in a favorable light.
A Broader Network Exposed
Malhotra’s arrest is part of a broader crackdown. A total of six individuals have been detained so far across Haryana and Punjab. Authorities suggest this network was actively providing classified or sensitive information to foreign intelligence agencies. Malhotra travelled to Indonesia, according to further revelations. She recently took a trip to Bali. She was accompanied by one of the accused Pakistani intelligence agents. It is believed that logistical arrangements for her trips to and from Pakistan were handled by Pakistani handlers.
