Vikram Misri held bilateral Foreign Office Consultations in Moscow today with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko
Moscow, March 07, 2025: Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri met with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko. This was a significant move to bolster Indo-Russian ties. They held bilateral Foreign Office Consultations in Moscow today. The meeting underscored the deep-rooted partnership between the two nations. Both sides reviewed a broad range of issues. These ranged from bilateral cooperation to pressing regional and global challenges.
During the consultations, the officials took stock of progress made on several high-level engagements. These include the outcomes of the 22nd Annual Summit in Moscow (July 2024). Strategic decisions were taken there. Another significant event was the meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Vladimir Putin. This happened on the sidelines of the 16th BRICS Summit in Kazan. The discussions also highlighted the achievements of the 25th session of the India-Russia Intergovernmental Commission. This focused on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technological, and Cultural Cooperation. It was held in New Delhi in November 2024.
Foreign Secretary Misri emphasized the importance of a multifaceted relationship. He held separate meetings with key Russian officials. He met with Maxim Oreshkin, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Russian Presidential Executive Office. Yury Ushakov, aide to the Russian President, also attended. Additionally, Alexey Gruzdev, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, was present. These interactions focused on enhancing economic collaboration, technological exchanges, and defense cooperation. This reflects a mutual commitment to addressing emerging global challenges.
