Indian cricketer Kuldeep Yadav has reportedly postponed his wedding due to the rescheduling of the IPL 2025 season, following rising tensions between India and Pakistan.
Originally set to tie the knot shortly after the conclusion of the IPL, Kuldeep had planned a low-key ceremony. However, media reports suggest that the suspension of the IPL—following escalating cross-border tensions earlier in May—has disrupted not only the tournament schedule but also personal plans for some players.
Due to the temporary halt of the IPL on May 8, which resumed a week later on May 17, Kuldeep was compelled to delay his wedding. The revised IPL timeline has affected several players’ personal commitments, and Kuldeep is now expected to marry after the season ends, though the new date remains undisclosed.
Former Indian cricketer Suresh Raina recently hinted at Kuldeep’s quiet wedding plans during a media interaction. While the identity of the bride remains a mystery, Raina revealed that Kuldeep had been keeping the entire affair under wraps. Notably, the 30-year-old spinner had previously stated that his future wife is not from the film industry, distinguishing his personal life from many high-profile cricketer-celebrity pairings.
In IPL 2025, Kuldeep has delivered a consistent performance. Before the match against Gujarat Titans, he had claimed 12 wickets in 12 matches, making him the second-highest wicket-taker for Delhi Capitals behind Mitchell Starc, who had taken 18.
Interestingly, Kuldeep isn’t the first cricketer to reschedule wedding plans due to IPL commitments. Back in 2022, RCB captain Rajat Patidar had also postponed his wedding after being signed mid-season, opting to focus on the unexpected opportunity.
As of now, neither the date nor the venue of Kuldeep’s wedding has been officially revealed. But if things had gone according to plan—and without Raina’s comment—it’s likely the world would have only learned of the wedding after the rituals were complete.
