Indigenous Life Support System Boosts Pilot Safety in LCA Tejas

Indigenous Life Support System Boosts Pilot Safety in LCA Tejas

India has achieved a significant breakthrough in aerospace technology. The Defence Bio-Engineering & Electro Medical Laboratory (DEBEL) is a Bengaluru-based lab under the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). The lab has completed high-altitude trials of the Indigenous Integrated Life Support System (ILSS). This system is for the Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Tejas. The trials, conducted on March 4, 2025, mark a major step in enhancing pilot safety and autonomy in fighter jets. What Was Tested? The Oxygen On-Board Generating System (OBOGS)-based ILSS is a next-generation system. It provides a continuous supply of breathable oxygen to pilots. This eliminates the…

Innovative Missile Trials by Indian Navy and DRDO

The trials demonstrated the missile’s ability against ship targets while launched from an Indian Naval Seaking Helicopter. The Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO) and Indian Navy conducted successful flight-trials of a first-of-its-kind Naval Anti-Ship missile (NASM-SR). These trials took place at the Integrated Test Range (ITR) in Chandipur on February 25, 2025. The trials demonstrated the missile’s capability against ship targets while launched from an Indian Naval Seaking Helicopter. https://videopress.com/v/zFUUphdG?resizeToParent=true&cover=true&preloadContent=metadata&useAverageColor=true The trials have proven the missile’s Man-in-Loop feature. They scored a direct hit on a small ship target in sea-skimming mode. This occurred at its greatest range. The missile…

DRDO Odisha conducts successful VSHORADS Flight Trials

Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO) has successfully conducted three flight-trials. These trials were of the Very Short-Range Air Defence System (VSHORADS). They occurred from Chandipur off the coast of Odisha. These tests were carried out against high-speed targets flying at very low altitude. During all the three flight-tests, the missiles intercepted the targets. They completely destroyed targets which had reduced thermal signatures. These signatures mimicked low-flying drones in different flying conditions. The flight-tests were conducted in the final deployment configuration. Two field operators executed weapon readiness. They carried out target acquisition and executed missile firing. https://videopress.com/v/YrL1KVZL?resizeToParent=true&cover=true&preloadContent=metadata&useAverageColor=true The flight data…
