India-Bangladesh Border Fencing: 3,232 km Completed, 864 km Still Unfenced
The completion of the fencing project faces multiple challenges. The Government of India has made significant progress in securing the 4,096.7 km long India-Bangladesh border, with 3,232.218 km of fencing completed. Yet, 864.482 km remains unfenced. This includes 174 km of gaps which are not practical to fill. Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai provided this information in a written reply in the Lok Sabha.
