Several videos are circulating on social media. These videos claim to show Pakistani locals storming a Chinese-operated call centre in Islamabad’s Sector F-11. They follow a raid by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and intelligence agencies.
The footage reportedly depicts individuals rushing into the premises and carrying away electronic items such as laptops and televisions.
The FIA’s Cybercrime Cell led the operation on March 15. The target was a call centre suspected of involvement in international fraud. The FIA’s Cybercrime Cell led the operation on March 15. The target was a call centre suspected of involvement in international fraud. During the raid, authorities detained over 24 individuals, including foreign nationals, while some managed to escape. Sources within the FIA stated that the agency had been monitoring the operation for some time. They only proceeded after receiving clearance from senior officials.
As the raid unfolded, a group—primarily young men—reportedly entered the building and began looting technical equipment.
One social media user on X commented, “Pakistanis have looted the Chinese call centres in Islamabad… laptops, TV, & other items all looted…”
Another post humorously observed, “Chinese-run call centres scam people, but then Pakistanis loot the call centres to scam the scammers. It’s like a scam food chain.”
This is not the first incident of its kind. In September 2024, armed looters raided another Chinese-owned call centre in Islamabad. They reportedly made off with 130 laptops and other valuables, according to Dawn.
