“Crushing Terror Is a National Resolve”: PM Modi
New Delhi, April 30 — Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday led a high-level security meeting. This followed the devastating Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir. The attack killed 26 people. According to government sources, Modi reaffirmed that responding decisively to terrorism is a national resolve. He gave the armed forces complete operational freedom. They can determine the timing, scale, and manner of India’s response.
National Security Adviser Ajit Doval was also present at the nearly 90-minute strategy session. The session included Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan. Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi was in attendance. Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh Tripathi was present. Air Force Chief Air Marshal VR Chaudhari attended as well.
Discussions focused on the ongoing counter-terror operations. They also covered post-attack security assessment. Additionally, future military and diplomatic options are considered in dealing with cross-border terrorism.

Tarar warned India against any military misadventure, stating, “India is playing with fire. Any aggression will receive a decisive response.” He also claimed that Pakistan has been a long-time victim of terrorism. It has offered an independent and transparent probe into the Pahalgam attack. However, India has rejected this offer as insincere.
Following the Pahalgam massacre, the Indian government has taken strong diplomatic steps, including:
PM Modi had earlier vowed that India would track down every terrorist and punish them. The pursuit will continue no matter where they hide.
