Indigenous Fighter Jet Project Approved: A Milestone for Aerospace and Defence
At the CII Annual Business Summit, India’s Defence Minister made a landmark announcement. The execution model for the Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) has been approved. This is the country’s ambitious fifth-generation fighter jet project. The minister marked a significant step in India’s Defence modernization drive. He stated that five prototypes will be developed. This will lead to full-scale production.

These actions were from Pakistan’s southern regions. These actions extended to PoK as well.
He declared, “Running a business of terrorism has become too costly. Pakistan has learned this the hard way.”

The minister highlighted a heartfelt connection with the people of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). He expressed hope that the region would one day rejoin India. This reunion should be “voluntary, with pride and conviction.” Drawing a historical parallel, he likened PoK to Shakti Singh. Shakti Singh was the separated brother of Maharana Pratap. He emphasized India’s enduring cultural and emotional ties with the region.
Rajnath Singh asserted that India’s future engagements with Pakistan would focus solely on terrorism and PoK. He added that India has “redesigned and redefined” its Defence and diplomatic strategy.

The Defence Minister expanded the scope of Make in India beyond Defence. He envisioned it as a foundation for India’s economic and technological transformation. India, he noted, is no longer just producing traditional Defence equipment but is also preparing for next-generation warfare. Areas like Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Space-based Defence, and Unmanned Systems are now integral to India’s Defence strategy. During Operation Sindoor, India’s indigenous systems reportedly surprised the world with their effectiveness, reinforcing the country’s technological prowess.
Impressive Defence Sector Growth
India’s Defence industry has witnessed significant growth, with the sector expanding from ₹43,000 crore to over ₹1.46 lakh crore. Private industry now contributes ₹36,000 crore, and Defence exports have surged past ₹24,000 crore. Over 16,000 MSMEs are currently part of the Defence manufacturing ecosystem. They provide a strong employment base. These MSMEs bolster the supply chain.
Trust, Innovation, and Economic Strength Amid Global Uncertainty
The Defence Minister also pointed out how global trust deficits are fuelling conflict. He highlighted India’s role as a stabilizing economic force. Innovations like GST and UPI have fostered national integration and digital trust. India’s economy, he emphasized, remains the world’s fastest growing, even as other nations grapple with recession fears.
He cited Moody’s outlook. He asserted that India’s consumption-driven economy is effectively absorbing global shocks. This positions the country as a resilient and rapidly advancing power.
