They uncovered a hidden cache of weapons and explosives. This took place near the Indo-Pak border in the Amritsar district. The recovery occurred near the village of Bharopal in the Amritsar sector. This was based on actionable intelligence from the BSF’s intelligence wing. During the combing operation, security forces discovered a substantial cache of arms and ammunition. The recovered items include:
- 2 hand grenades
- 3 pistols
- 6 pistol magazines
- 50 rounds of ammunition
All seized materials have since been handed over to Punjab Police for further investigation and forensic examination.

Officials believe the seizure has averted a potentially serious terror attack in the region. The location of the arms cache suggests it may have been intended for a coordinated strike. It could also have been meant for distribution among sleeper cells operating in the state.
