Amit Shah Vows Retaliation Against Pahalgam Attackers: ‘Chun chun ke badla lenge’

Firm Warning to Terrorists from the Union Home Minister

Union Home Minister Amit Shah delivered a stern message to terrorist outfits responsible for the deadly Pahalgam attack. He asserted that every perpetrator will be brought to justice. Speaking at an event in New Delhi, Shah declared that India’s fight against terrorism is far from over. “Those behind this cowardly act should not mistake it for a triumph. We will avenge each and every life lost—chun chun ke badla lenge,” he said.

Modi Government’s Zero Tolerance Policy on Terrorism

The Narendra Modi-led government is committed to national security. Shah emphasized that uprooting terrorism from Indian soil remains a top priority. “This is the government of Narendra Modi. No terrorist will be spared. It is our unwavering resolve to eliminate terrorism from every corner of the country,” he stated.

Global Support for India’s Anti-Terror Stand

Highlighting India’s strengthened position on the global stage, Shah noted that the international community stands in solidarity with the country. “Not just 140 crore Indians are united with us. Nations around the world also stand with us in this war against terrorism,” he added.

The Pahalgam Tragedy: One of the Deadliest Attacks Since Pulwama

On April 22, 2025, a brutal terror attack rocked the Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir. Terrorists opened fire on a group of tourists gathered near a meadow in the scenic town of Pahalgam. The incident claimed 26 lives and left several others wounded. It was among the most severe terror attacks in the region. This follows the 2019 Pulwama suicide bombing that killed 40 CRPF personnel.

India’s Swift Response: Diplomatic and Strategic Measures

In response to the attack, India took strong measures against Pakistan, which it accuses of harboring terror groups. These included suspending the Indus Waters Treaty, downgrading diplomatic engagement, and revoking all short-term visas issued to Pakistani nationals.

Military Freedom to Retaliate

Prime Minister Narendra Modi conducted a high-level security review. He granted the Indian armed forces full operational freedom. They can choose how, when, and where to respond. This green light signals a no-holds-barred approach to confronting cross-border terrorism.
