“BrahMos Hai Hamare Paas”: Owaisi Fires Back at Shehbaz Sharif’s Water Threat

Shehbaz Sharif, Pakistan’s Prime Minister, issued fresh threats. In response, AIMIM chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi issued a stern warning. He condemned Pakistan’s irresponsible statement.

Owaisi warned not to terrorise India by such petty remarks as Neighbouring country should remember India has Brahmos.

He advised Shehbaz Sharif “not to talk such nonsense”.

Sharif commented on India’s stance for the abeyance of the Indus water Treaty. He said the enemy would not be allowed to snatch even one drop of water belonging to his country.

Owaisi reacted to the Pakistani PM’s statement and said, “BrahMos hai humaare paas (We have the BrahMos)… He should not talk such nonsense. Such threats will have no effect on India. Enough is enough.”

Owaisi reacted to Army chief Asim Munir’s earlier nuclear threat to India from US soil

Earlier, Owaisi had reacted sharply to Pakistani army chief Asim Munir’s ‘nuclear’ threats. He said that the language used against India is condemnable.

The AIMIM president said in a post on X, “Pakistan Army Chief’s threats & language against India are condemnable. That he did this from the US soil makes it worse. It deserves a Political response from the Modi government. They should not rely solely on the MEA statement. The government must lodge their protest. They need to raise the issue with the US strongly.

India’s firm decision on abeyance of Indus Waters Treaty

India reports the deadly Pahalgam terror attack. It was state-sponsored by Pakistan and claimed 26 lives. India, in taking punitive actions on Pakistan, has kept the Indus waters treaty of 1960 in abeyance.

At a ceremony in Islamabad, Sharif said, “I want to tell the enemy today. If you threaten to hold our water, then keep this in mind. You cannot snatch even one drop of Pakistan.”

He further said that if India attempted any such thing, “you will be taught a lesson again.” You will be left holding your ears.” Pakistan has repeatedly warned India over time. They declared that India should not build any projects on the Indus River. If India does, it would be considered an act of war. It has repeatedly stopped India from using Indus waters. It blocks the free flow of water to Pakistani territory.

India’s Stance

Earlier, the Indian external ministry commented on Asim Munir’s statement. They noted the irresponsible nature of the state of Pakistan towards Nuclear power.

On Asim Munir’s statement New Delhi responded that “nuclear sabre-rattling” is Pakistan’s “stock-in-trade”. “The international community can draw its own conclusions on the irresponsibility inherent in such remarks. This also reinforces the well-held doubts about the integrity of nuclear command and control. The military in this state is hand-in-glove with terrorist groups,” the External Affairs Ministry said.

“India has already made it clear that it will not give in to nuclear blackmail. We will continue to take all steps necessary to safeguard our national security,” the ministry said.
