Large-Scale Crackdown on Illegal Encroachments Along Indo-Nepal Border Intensifies

Lucknow – Authorities in Uttar Pradesh have intensified their efforts against illegal constructions and encroachments along the Indo-Nepal border. Districts adjacent to the international border have witnessed a major anti-encroachment drive over the past few days. These districts include Bahraich, Balrampur, Siddharthnagar, Shravasti, Pilibhit, and Maharajganj.

Madrasas and Religious Structures Under Scrutiny

In a significant move, the administration has targeted unauthorized madrasas and religious structures erected on encroached land. These actions are part of a broader security and regulatory push in the sensitive border region.

• Bahraich: Authorities removed 143 encroachments and sealed six illegally operating madrasas.
• Balrampur: Officials have identified 20 unregistered madrasas for further legal action.
• Siddharthnagar: Action has been taken against one unauthorized religious structure and 17 illegal madrasas.
• Shravasti: A total of 53 madrasas have been sealed. Authorities have issued eviction orders for 151 structures. They also demolished one illegal religious structure.
• Pilibhit: Seven illegal madrasas and 77 unauthorized religious sites have been identified.
• Maharajganj: In border areas of the district, 34 illegal madrasas and religious structures were found. Two of them were demolished, and legal proceedings have begun against the remaining ones.

Government’s Message: No Compromise on Law and Order

The operation demonstrates the state government’s strong stance on illegal encroachments. It especially targets those perceived as potential security threats in sensitive border regions. Officials have stated that the campaign will continue. They will show zero tolerance towards unauthorized religious or educational establishments. These are built in violation of the law.
