Major Crackdown After Pahalgam Attack: Terrorists’ House Destroyed in Tral Blast

After the deadly terrorist attack in Pahalgam, the Indian Army increased their counter-terror operations. Security agencies have also amplified their efforts across Jammu and Kashmir. During one operation, there was a significant development in Tral. An explosion occurred during a search of a suspected terrorist’s residence.

The police and the Army raided the house of two suspects. The suspects were Adil Gurri (also known as Adil Thokar) and Asif Sheikh. During the raid, they encountered suspicious materials. The personnel sensed danger and immediately backed off. Shortly after, a powerful blast took place. It caused extensive damage to the property. Preliminary findings suggest that explosive material was stored inside the house.

Adil’s Terror Links Date Back to 2018

Adil Gurri, believed to be affiliated with the Lashkar-e-Taiba, is originally from Bijbehara. Authorities claim that he traveled to Pakistan legally in 2018, where he is suspected to have undergone terror training. He reportedly returned to Jammu and Kashmir just last year. His name, along with Asif Sheikh’s, has surfaced in connection with the recent Pahalgam massacre.

Border Tensions Escalate

Meanwhile, ceasefire violations by Pakistan have been reported near the Line of Control (LoC), further aggravating the situation. Indian forces responded swiftly and effectively, though no casualties have been reported. The border remains tense, with heightened military vigilance in place.

Army Chief Set to Visit Conflict Zones

As the security situation evolves, Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi is expected to visit Srinagar. He will also visit Udhampur to assess the ground conditions and coordinate ongoing operations. Earlier, Union Home Minister Amit Shah had also visited Pahalgam following the attack. His visit was followed by a high-level meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS). Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired the meeting. Several key measures were decided upon to enhance national security.
