Extreme tension prevails in Tripura state. This is due to protests at the Indian visa office in Bangladesh. Additionally, there were threatening statements about seizing India’s ‘Seven Sister’ states. In protest against these incidents, the youth wing of the Tipra Motha party took action. The YTF staged a road blockade and demonstration on Tuesday near the Circuit House in Agartala.
The protesters strongly condemned these remarks from Bangladesh. They asserted that there would be no compromise on India’s integrity and sovereignty. Traffic was temporarily disrupted in the area during the protest.

A large police force was deployed to the scene to control the situation. In this regard, West Tripura Superintendent of Police Namit Pathak stated that security arrangements have been strengthened throughout the state. He said that the situation is being closely monitored and the administration is fully prepared to prevent any untoward incidents.
The police administration has appealed to the public to remain calm and not to pay heed to rumors.
