Seelampur Murder: The Shadow of Fear and the Rise of ‘Lady Don’ Zikra

A shocking incident in Delhi’s Seelampur area has sparked outrage and fear after the brutal murder of a 17-year-old boy. The killing has brought a woman named Zikra—infamously known as ‘Lady Don’ in the neighborhood—into the spotlight. Authorities have arrested her in connection with the crime.

Teen Murdered While Out on an Errand

The victim, Kunal, was reportedly on his way to purchase milk. A group of four to five individuals ambushed him late Thursday night. Witnesses say he was stabbed multiple times in the street. Neighbors rushed to alert his family. Although he was taken to the hospital immediately, doctors declared him dead on arrival.

Zikra’s Notorious Background

According to police sources, Zikra has a troubling past. She once worked as a bodyguard for Joya, the wife of jailed gangster Hashim Baba. After Joya’s arrest, Zikra allegedly began organizing her own gang. She gained notoriety for posting videos on social media. In these videos, she flaunted firearms. Her online content quickly went viral, and she built a considerable following.

Zikra Under Investigation, Accused of Direct Involvement

Police have detained Zikra and are questioning her about her involvement. Kunal’s father, Rajbir, claims that Zikra had previously threatened his son, saying he wouldn’t be spared. He also alleges she was present at the scene of the attack. Local residents call Zikra a feared figure. They refer to her as “Lady Don” because of her intimidating presence and criminal activities in the area.

Multiple Suspects, But Only One Arrest So Far

So far, Zikra is the only person arrested in connection with the murder. Other suspects remain at large. Delhi Police have formed ten teams to investigate, conduct raids, and analyze CCTV footage. Zikra’s cousins, Sahil Khan and Rehan Mirza, have also been taken into custody for questioning.

Past Charges and Social Media Infamy

Zikra was previously arrested under the Arms Act for uploading a video brandishing a pistol. After being released on bail, she rented a house near Kunal’s residence. Police suspect she was attempting to create her own criminal network, allegedly involving 10–12 local youths.

Family Claims Caste Could Be a Motive

Kunal’s family has voiced concern that his murder might have been caste-related. His mother, Parveen, stated that her son had no involvement in any recent conflict. He may have become a target due to old grudges. Alternatively, it could be simply because of his identity. The family insists that Kunal had no enmity with anyone and are demanding justice.

Efforts to Build a Gang and Drug Links

Sources claim Zikra wanted to gain influence within Hashim Baba’s drug trade through her association with Joya. Her arrest has put a stop to those plans—for now. Reports also indicate she led a group of young men. She used her social media clout, boasting over 15,000 followers, to project her image as a gangster.

Police Vow Justice

Multiple teams are actively working to solve the case. Joint Commissioner of Police (East Range), Pushpendra Kumar, confirmed this. More arrests are expected soon. Investigations are ongoing, and authorities are pursuing all leads, including the possible gang rivalry and revenge motive.
