On Wednesday, June 25, the intelligence wing of Rajasthan Police arrested Vishal Yadav, a resident of Punsika, Haryana. Vishal worked as an Upper Division Clerk (UDC) on charges of spying for Pakistan. He has been arrested by the Rajasthan CID under the Official Secrets Act 1923. It is India’s anti-espionage act held over from the British colonial period. The arrest from Naval Bhawan in the national capital Delhi has stirred the country’s security agencies.
CID Intelligence Rajasthan was constantly monitoring the espionage activities carried out by Pakistani intelligence agencies. Inspector General of Police CID Security Vishnukant Gupta confirmed this ongoing surveillance. They discovered that Vishal Yadav was working in the Directorate of Dockyard in Naval Bhawan Delhi. He was in constant contact with a female handler from a Pakistani intelligence agency.
He was in touch with this woman, who used the pseudonym ‘Priya Sharma’, through social media. This woman was inciting Vishal to extract strategic and confidential information from Naval Bhawan by luring him with money.

Spying for money
Initial interrogation revealed that Vishal Yadav was addicted to playing online games. To fulfill his financial needs, he started playing with the nation’s security. He provided sensitive information to his handler through social media. As a result, he received USDT in his cryptocurrency trading account. He also got money in his bank account.
Espionage during Operation Sindoor
The forensic investigation of the culprit’s phone has unearthed even more shocking truths. In the charts and documents recovered from his phone, Vishal Yadav had provided confidential information related to the Navy. He shared this information with the female Pakistani handler. This occurred even during the ‘Operation Sindoor’.
Now, Vishal is being interrogated by several intelligence agencies at the Central Interrogation Center in Jaipur. The security agencies are trying to expose the racket of people who may be involved in this operation. They are also trying to uncover how much sensitive information has been leaked.
This case highlights the fact that Pakistani agencies are using all kinds of tactics to harm the nation. Social media has once again emerged as a medium for this. It helped wage the misinformation war during Operation Sindoor.
