Assam Rifles and Forest Department Foil Wildlife Smuggling Attempt in Mizoram, Three Arrested
Champhai, April 3, 2025 – The Assam Rifles made a significant move against wildlife trafficking. They collaborated with the Forest Department, Champhai. A joint operation was conducted near Crossing Point Four, Zokhawthar, Mizoram, on April 2, 2025. The operation resulted in the arrest of three Myanmar nationals attempting to smuggle exotic animals across the Indo-Myanmar border. Acting on intelligence reports, the Assam Rifles set up an operation to intercept suspected traffickers.
