India’s $248M Deal for T-72 Tank Engine Upgrade
The Ministry of Defence (MoD) has finalized a $248 million contract with Rosoboronexport (RoE) of Russia. The contract is to acquire 1,000 HP engines for T-72 tanks. These engines will be in fully built, completely knocked down, and semi-knocked down configurations. Boosting Indigenous Manufacturing & ‘Make in India’ As part of the agreement, there will be a technology transfer (ToT) from RoE.
