This is actually the largest ever recorded surface-to-air kill that we can talk about,” remarked Air Chief Marshal A.P Singh speaking at Air Chief Marshal LM katre Memorial Lecture in Bengaluru.

The S-400 was able to intercept AEW&C aircraft or an ELINT at a long range of 300kms. This created a history in Indian military achievement and prowess.

S-400, A Game Changer In Operation Sindoor

“Our air defence systems have done a wonderful job. The S-400 system, which we had recently bought, has been a game-changer. The range of that system has been effective. Their aircraft have been kept away from their weapons. They have long-range glide bombs and were not been able to use any of those bombs. They cannot penetrate the system,” the IAF chief said.

Emphasizing the importance of the S-400, India recently made a crucial purchase. This system plays a vital role in protecting Indian territory from Pakistan’s aggression. Due this advanced system Pakistan’s glided bombs or other weapons was not able to enter In Indian territory.

No Civilian Casualties

Special care throughout the operations was laid on preventing civilian casualties on other side of the border. India caused severe damages at Bahawalpur- the headquarters of Jaish-e-muhammad terrorist outfit .

“There’s hardly any collateral here… The adjacent buildings are fairly intact… Not only did we have satellite pictures, but also from local media, through which we could get inside pictures.” Remarked IAF chief AP Singh.

IAF chief credited the victory to the fact, that there was strong political will. Indian Defence Forces were trusted with free will to take actions at any extent they want to go for. “A key reason for success was the presence of political will. There were very clear directions given to us. No restrictions were put on us… If there were any constraints, they were self-made… We decided how much to escalate… We had full freedom to plan and execute. Our attacks were calibrated because we wanted to be mature about it… There was a synchronisation between the three forces… The post of CDS made a real difference. He was there to get us together…NSA also played a big role in getting all the agencies,” the IAF chief added.
