As Former Army Chief General M.M. Naravane’s autobiography, “Four Stars of Destiny” remains on hold with the Ministry of Defence, due to sensitive content, General Naravane is set to release his new book on fiction.
General Manoj Mukund Naravane served as the 28th Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) of India from December 31, 2019 to April 30, 2022. This tenure saw crucial developments including Galwan clash with China, launch of Agnipath scheme and other restructuring reforms within the Army. General Naravane’s first book “Four Stars of Destiny” that was published by Penguin was put on hold by the MoD just before its release last year. The publisher was directed by the Army, not to share the details of content of the book due to the mention of sensitive details. While the Indian Army and Ministry of Defence are still reviewing the memoir of former chief, General MM Naravane has now come up with a work of fiction. His new book titled, “The Cantonment Conspiracy” is pulsating military thriller according to him. Announcing his new book, former chief wrote on X, “For those waiting for my announcement. Here it is. My NEW book. It’s a pulsating military thriller – my foray into the world of fiction.

The publisher for the new book is also Penguin Random House. The launch of General Naravane’s new book has re-started a discussion on his first book,
“Four Stars of Destiny”, which contains details about his conversation with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on the movement of Chinese troops in Ladakh in 2020 and the Agnipath scheme. As reported earlier the autobiography showed a wide range of disclosures made by General Naravane related to the Galwan Valley clashes and the recruitment of people in the Agnipath scheme.
The publisher is still awaiting the response from the Army regarding the “Four Stars of Destiny” while “The Cantonment Conspiracy” is ready to hit the bookshelves soon.
