India and Indonesia continue to deepen their defence cooperation

These engagements come at a crucial time. Negotiations for the sale of BrahMos supersonic cruise missiles to Indonesia are reportedly in their final stages. Admiral Muhammad Ali, Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Navy, visited India. He toured the BrahMos headquarters. This visit indicates strong interest in acquiring the advanced missile system. The potential deal is estimated at around $200-300 million. It would mark a significant step in India’s defense exports. The deal would also enhance Indonesia’s maritime strike capabilities.
The IFR 2025 was reviewed by President Prabowo Subianto. It brings together naval forces from across the world. This reinforces Indonesia’s strategic role in the Indo-Pacific. As part of the event, Indian naval personnel will engage in high-level security discussions. They will conduct tactical exercises. They will also take part in environmental initiatives.
