Prayagraj: In a remarkable feat, 15,000 sanitation workers took part in a synchronized cleanliness drive. They worked across four zones of Prayagraj on Monday. Their aim was to set a new Guinness World Record. This massive effort was conducted as part of the Mahakumbh 2025 preparations. It reinforces the significance of hygiene and cleanliness at the world’s largest religious gathering.
According to an official statement, the event had several notable attendees. Prayagraj Mayor Ganesh Kesarwani was present. Mahakumbh’s Special Executive Officer Akanksha Rana also attended. Additionally, a supervisory team from the Guinness Book of World Records was there. Chief supervisor and judge Rishi Nath, who traveled from London, led the Guinness team in verifying the record attempt. The sanitation workers were counted by scanning wristband codes to ensure accuracy.
The final validation report for the record will be released after three days. It will confirm whether Prayagraj successfully surpasses its previous record. In 2019, 10,000 sanitation workers set a Guinness World Record during the Kumbh. They participated in a similar synchronized cleanliness drive.
Uttar Pradesh Urban Development and Energy Minister AK Sharma spoke on the occasion. He lauded the dedication of sanitation workers. A K Sharma called them the true heroes behind the successful organization of the Kumbh Mela. He emphasized that their relentless efforts guarantee a clean and hygienic environment for millions of pilgrims.
