The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has executed a high-profile attack in Mashkaf, Dhadar, Bolan. They targeted the Jaffar Express. It is a major passenger train traveling towards Punjab. According to BLA’s official statement, their fighters derailed the train, leading to intense clashes with Pakistani security forces. Reports indicate that at least six military personnel were killed during the confrontation. More than 100 passengers were taken hostage. Most of these hostages are Pakistani military, police, and intelligence personnel.

The BLA, a separatist militant group active in Balochistan, has claimed full control of the situation. They have issued a stern warning. They stated that any further military intervention will lead to the execution of all hostages. This includes actions such as airstrikes or ground operations. The captured personnel reportedly include members of Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and Anti-Terrorism Force (ATF), who were traveling on leave.
BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch stated this in a press release. They emphasized that their fighters had released women, children, and Baloch civilians from the train. They ensured that only members of the “occupying forces” remain in their custody. The BLA’s elite units are leading the operation. These units include the Fidayeen Unit, Majeed Brigade, Fateh Squad, and intelligence wing Zirab.
Pakistani military forces initially launched a ground offensive to retake control but were reportedly repelled by the BLA. The situation remains volatile as aerial bombardments from Pakistani helicopters and drones continue.
The BLA has demanded an immediate halt to airstrikes, warning that failure to comply will have “catastrophic consequences.” The Pakistani government has not yet released an official response. However, tensions in the region have escalated significantly. This situation raises concerns about further conflict and retaliation.
