India Strongly Condemns Vandalism at Hindu Temple in California

New Delhi, March 9, 2025 – India has strongly condemned the vandalism at a Hindu temple in Chino Hills, California. It is calling for stringent action against those responsible.

The Official Spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs, Shri Randhir Jaiswal, responded to media queries. He issued a statement condemning the attack. “We have seen reports regarding the vandalism at a Hindu temple in Chino Hills, California. We condemn such despicable acts in the strongest terms. We urge the local law enforcement authorities to act stringently against those responsible. They must also ensure adequate security to places of worship,” he said.

The incident has sparked concerns among the Indian diaspora in the United States. The temple serves as a spiritual and cultural center for the local Hindu community. It reportedly suffered damage to its exterior. Hateful graffiti was found on its premises. The local police have launched an investigation into the matter, and authorities have assured swift action against the perpetrators.

The Indian government has urged US authorities to take measures to protect religious sites. They emphasized the importance of ensuring that such acts do not recur. Similar incidents in the past have raised concerns about the safety of places of worship. These incidents have prompted calls for stronger action against hate crimes.

The Indian Embassy and Consulate in the US are closely monitoring the situation. They are engaging with local officials to ensure justice is served. Community leaders have also condemned the act, calling for unity and awareness to prevent such attacks in the future.
