Rattled by Operation Sindoor, Pakistan Launches Army Rocket Force Command, Amplifies Defense Spending

After India’s Devastating Operation Sindoor, Pakistan been through heavy asset losses of both civilian and military in nature. Pakistan learned from the Indian strikes. It decided to boost its military capabilities. Pakistan announced the formation of a new Military force, ‘The army rocket force command’ to oversee its military arsenal.

It also increased its military spending to 20% in its June budget recently.

Pakistan’s new Military force inspired by Chinese’s forces

Pakistan’s new force is reportedly inspired and modelled after its all-weather ally China’s People’s Liberation Army rocket force. This force is responsible for overseeing land based ballistic, hypersonic and Cruise missiles, both nuclear and conventional. 

This was announced by PM Shehbaz Shariff on late Wednesday speaking on country’s 79th Independence Day at Islamabad.

“It will be equipped with modern technology. It will be capable of striking the enemy from all directions,” he said. He added, “It will improve our conventional war capabilities.”

“It is a key milestone in the advancement of the country’s military response capability,” Sharif further stated. Pakistan’s President Asif Ali Zardari, three services chiefs and other national dignitaries were also present at the event.

This decision came months after India Infiltrated strikes on Pak’s border and within. “After the recent conflict, the object is to strengthen Pakistan’s military capability. This decision is a part of that process,” defence analyst Talat Masood, a former general, told AFP.

India’s Deadly Operation Sindoor been a Lesson for Pakistan

Air chief Marshal informed the nation about the toll of the Pakistani aircraft shot during Operation Sindoor Air Strikes. He also reported on destroying the terror base camps in the country. Pakistan deployed several of its missile systems during the fighting. They used J-10C Vigorous Dragon and JF-17 Thunder fighter jets. However, nothing proved functional in protecting the nation.

After the Indian action on Pak’s soil, it increased its defence spending to 20%. Plans are also under way to acquire 40 new Chinese fighter jets. Additionally, they are modernizing air defence systems. Pak’s PM thanked multiple nations including China, Iran, Azerbaijan, turkiye, Saudi Arabia and UAE for supporting Pakistan.

Recently Pakistan Army Chief Asim Munir threatened India with a nuclear threat. He delivered this address from Florida, US. This was during his second official visit to the nation in a single month. Post Pahalgam terror attack on 22 April, India took several punitive actions against the State of Pakistan. One of these actions includes keeping the Indus water treaty in abeyance.

“I want to tell the enemy today. If you want to threaten to hold our water, then keep this in mind. You cannot snatch even one drop of Pakistan,” news agency PTI quoted Sharif as saying.

Emphasing that Pakistan will not compromise if waters from Indus is stopped by India by building Dam structures. India replied firmly. It will continue to take action in National Interests. India highlighted to the world the inherent irresponsibility that Pakistan has for handling its nuclear power.
